Bryan and Sarika slept within each other’s embrace as Sarama was still curled around them as the morning came with the sun beginning to shine over the land awaking its inhabitants one by one. The Light of the sun slowly worked its way into the cave hitting the crystals in the cavern making them light up bring more light within as it made its way to the nest reaching the resting family.

Sarama eyes started to flutter as slowly started to awake raising her up and yawned as she shook her head to help awake herself further. She opened her eyes fully and listened in as she could her many chirps of birds outside and seeing a small ray of sunshine. She smiled seeing how morning came already and took a look at the children still snuggled onto her belly and within their own embrace. Seeing them made her heart grow warm with love seeing them but she shuddered when she thought of the bear attack yesterday. She couldn’t believe she let the children alone for a bit and a bear came out of nowhere and tried to eat them.

Sarama slowly lowered her head and nuzzled the children very softly so they would not wake for they needed all the rest they could from their brave defense from the attacking bear. “I will never allow this to happen again.” Sarama whispered to herself making her own personal vow to always remain vigilant and never dare leave any of the children alone again. She wondered how Selena and Zenith would take this news when they come by to pick up their son. She could not lie to them not even to her own sister of the terrible tragedy that almost was. She only hoped that they could forgive her for her actions but that would wait until they come.

Sarama didn’t move a muscle as she continued to sit around the children and hummed lullaby for them to help sooth them so they could get all the rest they needed for they had an experience no one should have ever have gone through and she was so relieved that Bryan was even brave enough to defend his dragon cousin despite the odds and the fear of the attacking of a fierce animal. She smiled knowing that Bryan would most certainly grow and be strong and courageous as she was also proud of her daughter valiantly defending her own against the bear even if it meant she would risk herself to do it.

“I’m so proud of you both. I’m truly blessed to call you my children, may you both grow strong together and carry with each other the bond you two share.” Sarama whispered to them slowly bringing her claw around them cuddling them closer to her. She embraced them lovingly as she watched over them as the morning hour went on until finally one of them started to stir.

Sarika slowly let go of Bryan as she wiped her eyes. She tried to move but her movements were restricted being within the embrace of her mother. She looked up to see Sarama smiling at her. “Good Morning Momma.”  She greeted giving Sarama’s belly a nuzzle causing Sarama to giggle.

“Good Morning my little brave daughter.” Sarama leaned down and nuzzled her. “Did you sleep well?”

“I did momma, Thank you. I dreamed I fought a hundred bears and Bryan helped me deal with them.” Sarika told her happily.

“Really now? That’s very interesting. I’m surprised given with what happened yesterday you would have a nightmare?” Sarama wondered while glad that the event didn’t have a horrible impact on Sarika and hopefully not Bryan as well.

“It was nothing mommy.” Sarika reassured as she climbed from Sarama’s grasp jumping onto the nest and gave her mom a very happy and assuring smile sitting down. Sarama chuckled seeing her face which was just so adorable.

“My big brave little dragon.” Sarama cooed nuzzling her once more as Sarika giggled nuzzling her cheek back as Bryan himself started to awaken as well. Sarama set Bryan on the ground taken her claw away to allow the boy to stretch and awaken. Bryan yawned stretching his arms out and wiped his eyes a bit before standing up.

“Good Morning Aunt Sarama.” He greeted with a smile as Sarama returned one to him.

“Good Morning my big brave nephew.” Sarama cooed giving his hair a few strokes of her talons. “I hope you slept peacefully.”

Bryan nodded. “I did, thank you.” Bryan slowly stood up and walked next to Sarika as he petted her head and she giggled from it and gave him a hug wrapping her wing around him. Sarama watched them with a smile and looked outside at the end of the cave.

“Well my children. Selena and Zenith could be back very soon. So what is it you both wish to do till they arrive?” She asked as the children looked at one another and pondered for a moment. While thinking Bryan remembered the secret cave back in the mountain that stored many books and recalled how as it was explained to him that it’s a dragons duty to tutor their children as well as the elders.

“Aunt Sarama?” Bryan said gaining the large dragons attention. “Do you have any books?” He asked causing Sarika to bounce with joy.

“Oh Goodie Goodie! Story time! Story Time!” She cheered with glee as Sarama chuckled as always her daughter being so enthusiastic in everything that makes a little dragon happy and brought warmth into her heart as Bryan giggled too for Sarika’s enthusiasm really was amusing.

“As my little dragon has eloquently put it Bryan.” Sarama chuckled as Sarika stopped bouncing and looked at the two with a wide grin sitting on her haunches. “The answer to your question is correct, I do have many books. We can enjoy a tale or two till your parents come little one. I’ll go fetch some. Please wait in here.” Sarama got up and slowly walked out of the nest and blew a flame from her mouth to a wall nearby that sparkled the many crystals that were implanted on it and to the great surprise of Bryan a passage opened up and Sarama ventured inside it.

Bryan was dumbfounded at what he just witnessed. He couldn’t even begin to even imagine what just happened at he maintained a very surprised look as Sarika looked at him and giggled seeing his face for it was just so adorable that she had to give the boy a nudge to side to get him out of it.

“I believe you’re surprised about the Crystal passage?” She asked with a hint of amusement in her voice

“Uh…yes…H…how!?” Bryan asked pointing at the passage as it remained opened for a time then it closed slowly but not trapping the one who entered for Sarika was about to explain the phenomena.

“Oh its simple cousin. You see the crystals are magic and as Uncle Zenith told you they provide us with light, healing and a way to see at other places. They can also be used for other needs for as you just seen, the crystals on the walls there can be used to make way into another chamber. All you need to do is dig inside and make your chamber then you seal up the way inside and place the crystals on the walls and then we use our fire to unleash the magic within them and you could say command it to open. It would stay open for a little bit then it shuts, then you have to breathe fire on it to open it again.” Sarika explained to the boy who listened in on what she said.

Bryan was once more astonished at the new information. He was doing what he could to comprehend that everything is more than what it seemed with the crystals. The Crystals were a lot more than what his dragon father told him. He nodded at Sarika understanding what she meant and she smiled seeing his face again surprised.

“Don’t worry Bryan, You will understand it and soon it will be fun for you. I’ll show just how you showed me how to play with the ball.” Sarika told him giving him a playful nudge in his stomach. Bryan smiled at that and chuckled from the nudge

“That sounds great Sarika. Thank you.” Bryan replied as a cracking noise came from the wall with the crystals drawing his and the little dragons attention as the wall opened back up and Sarama emerged from it carrying a couple of large books in her talon as she walked back into the nest and layed down. She smiled at the children as she set the books on the ground.

“I take it my little Sarika explained what you have witnessed?” She asked with a playful tone as Bryan quickly nodded as Sarika did as well. Sarama put her tail behind them as Bryan sat down and layed against it as Sarika sat down as well.

“Now Bryan, here’s one of Sarika’s favorite stories. I’m sure you will love it.” Sarama slowly opened the book and placed it on the ground in front of her and began to read of the tale that was a little dragon named Skyler who became legend to dragon and human kind during a time of crisis between the two factions. The Boy and Dragon listened as the story went on how the dragon saved a human named ken despite her kind’s hatred to him and his kind’s hatred towards hers. Together they became friends and fought valiantly to suppress the factions from further warring on each other.

The Dragon was faced with many difficult challenges with her kind as well as the humans.  After facing so many challenges and trials the Dragon finally managed to convince her kind to make peace with the humans when the boy she saved did the same but when they came to a meet the arrogant leaders of each faction each plotted to exploit each other’s time and use the meet as an advantage to gain the upper hand of their enemies.

When the meet a great battle broke out when the leaders had their most trusted launch a secret assault that desecrated the meet and thousands that believed in peace were paying the price. The Dragon Skyler and her human friend ken were horrified watching at how the leaders each used them both to bring this crisis. Not wanting to give up Skyler took to battle alongside Ken and attacked their leaders who cursed them as traitors to their kind as they fought against them.

During the battle Skyler managed to evade her leaders attacks and managed to gain the upper hand and struck him down and saved her friend Ken from being dealt the final blow when the human leader was about to run him through as she stopped him.

With the leaders defeated the battle quickly came to a halt as most of the ones loyal to their leaders fell and the ones who believed in peace still remained in many. Skyler declared that all of dragon kind and humans should not ever have come to fight one another for their differences for she understood long ago that one must never be judged for past actions or how they look but everyone on the inside is equal and together they could face life’s destinies together than against each other.

From that day forward Humans and Dragons lived in brotherhood and Skyler became a legend and represented the believe that all are one and equal and we can be united and together in fellowship.

The tale ended after a good two hours of reading and at the end of the story Sarika cheered with excitement for even though she heard the story a thousand times she always enjoyed the books happy ending as Bryan was fascinated by the book and only wondered if it was made up or was it actually made in fact.

The next few hours were filled with new tales from other books that now and again Sarama retrieved and read to the children many other stories but as she read on familiar figures landed in front of the cave and wandered inside and stood behind the nest as Bryan still sitting down letting his mind fill with images forged from the many stories he was being graciously read didn’t notice that his dragon parents were standing right behind him with smiles on their faces as Sarama already say them come in but she remained quiet for she wanted Bryan to be surprised as she ended another tale.

“The End…” She said finishing another tale as Bryan just smiled and sighed with happiness.

“Are all those stories real or they made up?” Bryan asked hoping to gain an answer little did he know he wasn’t going to get one from Sarama who smiled widely.

“Oh yes Bryan, I assure those tales are true.” A Familiar female voice answered that came from behind as Bryan quickly stood up and turned to see it was Zenith and Selena.

“Hello son…” They greeted with a smile.

I'm glad Bryan curiously asked his Aunt Sarama about having any books. And that worked out nicely.

And I'm also happy to see Bryan's dragon parents arrived as a surprise for him.
